"At a young age, my bedroom floor was often littered with sketchbooks filled to the bindings with drawings and paintings, overflowing with loose sheets, magazine clippings, and doodled- napkins. As a very quiet person, drawing became my communicative outlet, and a reprieve."
"Living on a farm, the barn was my sanctuary; a place to find my best friends. Since my childhood, I’ve shown livestock with my family. My best days were in the barn, feeding and grooming the animals in the cool, morning air. And my best nights can be recalled rinsing cattle after the sun dips low. "

"If I’m missing, you will probably find me outside in the barn. My relationships with animals reflect in my work; ranging from the livestock show industry to more conceptual ideas of life and my beliefs. My primary desire remains to show how I view the world, and the animals that make up mine."
Taylor Braasch received her BFA from Northern Illinois University, with an emphasis in Illustration. She currently resides on a farm in central Illinois, and spends her days in the barn. Her nights are spent sketching and painting into the wee hours of the morning. According to her, that's the best time to work.
